This does indeed beat walking. It’s a GXP too (are all the coupes GXPs?)
Also. I know it’s difficult to tell with the blacked out windows, but there are two people sitting in the car. I took the picture from the back first, then walked around the front and took a picture, and only after taking the second picture did I realize that there were people in the car. It actually scared the crap out of me. Ironically, I don’t think they ever noticed me.

One of Pontiac’s cleaner designs. Maybe if their cars were less ‘wangs’n thangs’ and more of this the company would still be around.

The styling of this car has aged fantastically.

I concur. I still get props and “nice car” from time to time, and people were amazed when I told them my car is 11 years old.
#totallynobias.

Hey, nice car!

Hey, nice...haircut? Yeah, we’ll go with that!
*Grand Am rolls by, owner leans out of window for compliment*
...no. Just...just give up.

I haven’t looked up the numbers for a while so my memory may be foggy, but only a small percentage of them were coupes, and only a small number of them were GXP’s, but most of them were base-model rental-spec soft-tops, so there’s quite a bit of overlap between the coupes and GXP’s. But not all coupes are necessarily also GXP’s.

Interwebs say that 1266 coupes including prepoduction were made, 850 of those being GXPs. Over 60000 convertables were produced. 33% of coupe production were manual.

Im pretty surprised they arent more sought after by enthisiasts. Especially the turbo versions.

Also just want to add, GXP coupes are actually more common than base coupes, almost 2 to 1. And only around a thousand of these around for entire North America

Well considering how rare these are, resale prices are through the roof (pun not intended) when you see a clean one.

Yep, all of the coupes were GXPs! There’s a guy across the street who owns one and takes good care of it. I just watch it from my window sometimes!

Most of the coupes were bought as an investment, as such they have ridiculously low miles and are out of the price point of most people for what it is.

All it needs is a recycled Alpha when Cadillac scraps the platform:
Regular Alpha to build a small compact RWD sedan and coupe
Lengthened Alpha to build a midsize RWD sedan and coupe
Shortened Alpha to build a small roadster
Vicki can do the designing, if she’s still with GM.
Engines are strictly Ecotec Turbo, with the performance small-block on the larger car.
Think a time-frozen old BMW still churning out E46s, E39s and clown shoes.

Not true. Around 1/3 of them were base coupes.

Funny thing is, the Saturn Sky started its life as the Vauxhall VX Lightning concept. GM just couldn’t justify making it RHD, hence only the Opel GT variant was made. Kappa was mostly recycled from Y-Body.

Hmm, didn’t know that. I’ve never seen a non-GXP but if two thirds of all Coupes sold were GXPs, it would make sense.

Very few Solstice Coupes are GXPs even less are manuals. I think there is something like 4 or 5 manual GXP Coupes.

I legitimately like these cars. Would buy.

Yes all coupe are GXPs. But not all GXPs are coupes.
Fun fact, the targa top doesn’t fit within the vehicle when off
